Donations were made to the Special Secretariat for Indigenous Health (DSEI) and the city of Barretos
This Thursday (23), the IFSP made more donations of alcohol gel and protective masks. This time, donations were received by the city of Barretos and by the Special Secretariat for Indigenous Health (DSEI), an agency linked to the Ministry of Health responsible for communities from the coast of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná.
O DSEI received a donation of 450 liters of alcohol in 70 ° glycerin and about 290 facial protectors (face shields), which will be used by health professionals who work with indigenous communities on the coast of São Paulo. The donation was made through a letter from the agency explaining the difficulty in acquiring these materials during the pandemic, and their importance for the protection of professionals and the indigenous population, who are extremely vulnerable to diseases, especially respiratory diseases.
The other donation was made to the city of Barretos, which received 1.000 liters of glycerin alcohol. The donated production will supply the various public health equipment in the municipality. Alexander Stafy Franco, Secretary of Health of Barretos, thanked immensely for the work developed at the Campus Barretos and highlighted the relevance of the IFSP in the municipality.
The Campus Barretos was responsible for the entire production of alcohol donated today. The facial protectors are the result of the work of the Itaquaquecetuba, Suzano and Bragança Paulista campuses. The IFSP campuses are developing various activities to combat and prevent Covid-19, in addition to other social actions, such as the donation of basic food baskets. However, in order to carry out this work, he relies on the collaboration of people and institutions that can donate food or supplies for the production of 70 ° alcohol and facial protectors. Those interested in collaborating should look for an IFSP unit for more information.
