The Arte Mundana extension project, Campuses São Paulo, brings, on April 1st, at 20 pm, a presentation of forró and northeastern music dthe Band of Regia. In addition to the musical presentation, the members of the group will talk about the history and relevance of the musical genre.
The presentation is free and will be transmitted by IFSP channel on Youtube.
In this presentation, Bando brings the project Sala de Reboco, a virtual class on the history of forró. In it will be presentedthe most emblematic artists of the genre, the themes of the songs discussed, reporteds the trajectory of the migrant backcountry and the variety of rhythms and characteristic instruments, all with a lot of music.
Teacher Carlos vinicius Venetians Two saints, coordinator of Arte Mundana since 2015, a project that brings cultural events to the Institution, recalls that the city of São Paulo “It grew supported by the enormous migration during the XNUMXth century, which left deep and permanent marks in different fields of culture and daily life”. It also highlights the importance of disseminating northeastern music, which, according to him, is one of the richest and most exciting in the world, “providing information and pleasure, two very valuable assets in these times of isolation”.
Bunch of Regia
Bando de Régia is a forró pé de serra group idealized and led by singer and songwriter Kelly Marques and includes musicians, composers and brothers Lucas Coimbra (accordion), Vitor Coimbra (zabumba) and drummer and percussionist Lello Araújo in the triangle. All members are also teachers and researchers of popular culture and Brazilian music.
