Student Talita de Freitas, from the 2nd semester of the Technology in Systems Analysis and Development course at Campus Campinas, was chosen as one of the ambassadors of the Amazon AWS Educate program, a global initiative by the technology giant that offers students comprehensive resources for the development of cloud-related skills.

Only nine Brazilian students, including Talita, were chosen to be part of the project's team of ambassadors. For her, being part of a global project like this, and representing the Campus Campinas among the nine chosen in Brazil, was an incredible accomplishment. “I hope to be a good mediator, so that students can count on me and become more and more interested in the platform, after all, learning is never too much”, he says. Talita also states that, like the other students, she will also learn a lot using AWS Educate. “It will be a great exchange of experiences, not only within the Institute, but also with ambassadors from all over the world.”

AWS Educate ambassadors were selected through a highly competitive selection process. The initial edition of the program, opened now in 2020, had 326 participants from more than 50 countries and 250 higher education institutions. The forecast is that the selection will be carried out annually.

To apply for one of the vacancies, in addition to having to be registered in AWS Educate, the student had to be in the 2nd or 3rd year of some discipline, preferably in the areas of science, technology, engineering or mathematics, be familiar with AWS Educate and AWS products and services and be involved in student organization and activities. The selection process consisted of producing a video (in English) where the student would have to describe how his participation in the program would be. Through the video, Amazon assessed each person's potential to conduct the program's activities.

The list of students selected as ambassadors for the project can be checked here.
