Seeking to expand the range of content and options available to people who are fulfilling social isolation at home, the libraries of various IFSP campuses have been offering diversified activities, such as the Jacareí Campus, which provides audios for literary texts on WhatsApp; Araraquara, in turn, is developing the Beco em Casa project, which, from next week, will share nominations, made by the community, of books, films, series and music.

The activities are available to all audiences, including those not connected to the Institution. An important work that has been done in this period is to combat false information about Covid-19. In all units, libraries are disseminating information from reliable sources.

“I believe that the global health crisis that we are going through intensifies an information crisis. Proof of this are the countless fake news, mismatched information and disbelief in scientific knowledge. In this sense, the activities of libraries are indispensable in facing this crisis. In addition, the creative actions of the campuses can assist in the process of welcoming and facing loneliness and isolation and also encourage reading ”, evaluates PRE librarian-documentalist, Angela Halen Claro Franco.
