IFSP wins parliamentary amendment to buy inputs and produce alcohol gel
The Federal Institute awaits the receipt of inputs to start the production of 30 thousand liters of 70% gel alcohol, which will be distributed among the institution's 36 campuses. The 250 thousand reais invested will be transferred through parliamentary amendment.
IFSP Budget and Finance advisor, José Roberto da Silva, explained that the funds were acquired through parliamentary amendment. "Everything is purchased, we will distribute it to the campuses that offer the Chemistry course and have the capacity to handle the products", he explains.
The following inputs were purchased: 21 thousand liters of 96% ethyl alcohol, 225 kg of hydroxyethyl cellulose, 210 liters of triethanolamine, 3 thousand kilos of 99% bi-distilled vegetable glycerin, 10 thousand liter IBC tanks, 1 thousand plastic gallons with capacity for five liters, 2 plastic drums with a capacity of ten liters and 1 plastic drums with a capacity of 400 liters.
IFSP Dean Eduardo Modena and Dean of Administration, Silmário Batista dos Santos, praised the working group for procurement of inputs and equipment to combat Covid-19. "Even with all the difficulties faced, the servers have been working hard to guarantee the routine work, in addition to the extra work for the IFSP to contribute to fighting the pandemic," they said.
