The Research Ethics Committee (CEP-IFSP), founded in mid-2008, is an interdisciplinary and independent collegiate body, with “public offices”, of a consultative, deliberative and educational nature, created to defend the interests of research participants in its integrity and dignity and to contribute to the development of research within ethical standards, observing the precepts described by the National Commission for Ethics in Research (CONEP), an organ directly linked to the National Health Council (CNS).
Therefore, CEP-IFSP aims to comply with and enforce the determinations of CNS Resolutions, 466/12 and 510/16, with regard to the ethical aspects of research involving human beings, from the perspective of the individual and collectivities , having as basic references of bioethics: autonomy, non-maleficence, beneficence and justice, among others, and aims to ensure the rights and duties that concern the scientific community and the research participants.
It is important to note that the submission (with subsequent evaluation and monitoring) of scientific research projects involving human beings will be carried out, exclusively, through Plataforma Brasil (http://aplicacao.saude.gov.br/pl Plataformabrasil/login.jsf) . The IFSP Human Research Ethics Committee obtained its first registration with the National Research Ethics Commission of the Ministry of Health (CONEP / CNS / MS) in December 2011, is operationally linked to the Dean of Research and Post -Graduation - PRP, having a deliberative, consultative and educational role, fostering ethical reflection on scientific research.
