The Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals (CEUA) of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo - IFSP is an independent body, with public, collegiate and interdisciplinary functions, of an advisory, deliberative, educational and supervisory nature, linked to the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies (PRP).
CEUA / IFSP is responsible for analyzing, monitoring and issuing opinions and certificates related to teaching, research and extension activities that require the use of non-human animals (breeding, maintenance and experimentation), according to national legislation and in the light of ethical principles in experimentation animal, and must comply with and enforce, within the scope of the IFSP and within the limits of the powers, the provisions of Federal Law No. 11.794, of October 8, 2008, and the rules prepared by the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA).
The IFSP Animal Use Ethics Committee obtained its first registration with the National Council for Animal Experimentation Control of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (CONCEA / MCTI) in February 2021.
